The campaign lasted about 15-20, since my friend stunk at the game haha. Definitely a good buy since the price is low. It is one of the best co op games out there. This game is mostly built for multiplayer, with all the back to back and sniping missions you do. The game is mostly built on multiplayer, and you have the choice to play the campaign by yourself, with a friend, or with a friend ove Xbox Live. The campaign is pretty good. The only thing I don't like about this game is that the online multiplayer is good. It is really boring but at the price right now it is worth paying it for just the campaign.
I am basing my review on the single player campaign only. You can still take cover, but you aren't stuck to the wall or object like in Gears. There are a lot of weapons to purchase throughout the game and you can also upgrade them with money acquired from completing missions. A normal play through will last roughly 6 hours. Also, the partner A.I. partner is absolutely incompetent and will frustrate you to the point where the game no longer becomes enjoyable.
He often runs out into the middle of the fire fight, resulting in him needing to be revived by you. Once you try and grab him, you end up getting shot to death most times. This game could have been so much greater than it was. Don't make the same mistake I did and try and play it alone as the frustration will soon set in. The game play is similar to Gears of War without the slide cover system. Also, the controls and aiming are not as polished as Gears, but work OK. If you and a friend are looking for a few days of fun, pick this up.
You order him to fire so that the aggro meter lands on him, and half the time he just sits there under cover. The main problem I have with this game is that your A.I. This game was meant to be played with a human partner and if done with a friend, the experience would be much better than mine. is sometimes unresponsive to your orders. Very frustrating when you are trying to beat the game at the highest difficulty. Overall, not a bad game and worth the $15 I spent on it. You won't be disappointed.
This game rocks from a 2 player co-op perspective as the whole game emphasizes this point. The graphics are really good and the gameplay is like all shooter games, but you are now forced to work as a 2 unit team where the gameplay mechanics require cooperation and teamwork of both players. I like that this game attempts to add a new spin on the shooter mechanics and it's a much welcome change. I definitely recommend this game to those out there looking to have a game where they can work with a friend to go through the missions.
Overall it is a fun game, just as COD it is very addictive and fun. If you choose to have a live partner, make sure they dont run off, but if you choose the machine, you will have to controll him too.
Unlike Gears, in Army of Two you can purchase different weapons with the cash you earn after completing the missions. If you run out of ammo in one gun you can switch to another gun, but you cannot pick up a gun that your enemy had.
This is like COD and Gears, the difference is that you have to work with a partner to make it through different levels and complete the missions. You can allow your partner to take some heat while you sneak around and attack from behind.
The GPS feature is great, it allows you to see which direction you should go and it also allows you to see different mines. The Aggro feature is also great.
When dragging you to safety, your AI partner may pull you into the line of fire instead of take cover to heal you. A sure stress reliever after a hards day at work.
The only problem was waiting to get the game. The game is awesome. I am glad i bought it.
